Grigsby Outdoors offers an opportunity of a lifetime for the avid outdoorsman. We are proud to be able to provide a limited number of hunts on The Grigsby, a prestigious 13,000 acre farm located in Central Illinois. For those of you who are not familiar with The Grigsby, you have been missing out. Once you experience The Grigsby, you will experience the ultimate hunt! The Grigsby is known for consistently producing trophy whitetail deer. Due to its productive habitat, excellent food sources, and wildlife genetics The Grigsby is considered one the premier hunting destinations in the nation for whitetail.
In partnership with Quality Deer Management Association, we are accelerating implementation of habitat and wildlife improvement strategies to improve our optimal habitat and quality wildlife thus improving your hunting experience. We closely monitor buck-to-doe ratios to produce an appropriate balanced deer herd. We offer low hunting pressures by only a allowing a select number of archery-only hunts. Grigsby Outdoors strictly enforces a 140” minimum and is moving toward an “age structure” minimum that will coincide with antler size. We monitor our wildlife year round which equips our professional and knowledgeable staff in stand placement that will result in exceptional opportunities. Grigsby Outdoors prides itself in truly offering the avid outdoorsman the lowest hunter density per acre and excellent service!
Accomodations
Grigsby Outdoors offers two lodges on The Grigsby farm. The newly renovated Grigsby lodge is a magnificent modern style log home that sits in the center of our prestigious Farm. The 6 bedroom 6 bathroom layout can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people, groups, families, or singles. Most of our bedrooms are double occupancy, but for an upgrade charge we offer a master suite with a King- Size bed and private Jacuzzi bath. The Grigsby lodge is equipped with all the modern day amenities including satellite TV, wireless internet, fax and telephone. The Grigsby Lodge is situated in one of the many sanctuaries located throughout the farm. It is not uncommon to see a mature whitetail drinking from our freshwater spring behind the lodge. The lodge also features a locker room allowing hunters to keep their hunting gear scent free.
Grigsby Outdoors also offers a 1950 style farm house .The Deer Lodge is a two story farm house and situated within walking distance of The Grigsby Lodge. The deer Lodge offers all the modern amenities of The Grigsby Lodge with a rustic appeal. This lodge is set up with the traditional deer hunter in mind including bunk beds that can accommodate up to 14 people. The Deer lodge also features a scent free room where hunters can store their hunting gear.
Whitetail Deer Hunting
With nearly 13,000 contiguous acres in the heart of big buck country, it’s not surprising that The Grigsby is one of the premiere whitetail properties in North America. But, it’s getting better every year due to their comprehensive QDM program which we helped design and implement. Few properties provide both the opportunity to harvest a record-class whitetail and a memorable hunting experience as does The Grigsby.
Wild Turkey Hunting
Grigsby Outdoors is looking forward to offering a high quality low impact Eastern turkey hunt in the spring of 2010. All packages will include accommodations, guides, and meals. We have an excellent population of Eastern Turkey on the farm. We will continue to update with trail camera photos and video clips. Upland Game at The Grigsby Preserve
Grigsby Outdoors is excited to announce the opening our Upland Game Preserve in October 2009. We will offer several hunting packages including liberated, wild, and European style hunts. Our 1000 acre upland game preserve is situated on the southwest corner of our property. The terrain and layout of The Grigsby Preserve is absolutely breathtaking and includes rolling hills, hard wood fingers and acres of warm and cool season grasses which makes for a spectacular hunt. Safety & Tree Stands
Grigsby Outdoor is committed to the highest standards of excellence in both our treestand placement and safety. We utilize only the highest quality treestands including Gorilla King Kong hang-on stands, and Loggy Bayou ladder stands. Head guide Denny Conn lives on the property and spends a great deal of his time scouting the farm in order to locate the optimal stand locations.
Shed Antler Hunting
Grigsby Outdoors is hosting its first annual shed hunt on the 13,000 acre Grigsby Farm. Join us for a 3-day, 2-night shed hunt including a 3-d target shoot, shed contest including prizes for the top three winners, and a wild game dinner. There are a limited number of spots available.
